"Sound Arts Recording Studio" in Houston- good for tracking metal/rock drums ?

Seriously looking at this studio for tracking drums for a few songs, and was just wondering if anyone else on here could vouch for the kit and room in this studio (along with tracking gear AND engineer skill) for being up to the task of capturing the performance of a really great HARD rock drummer ??

The gear list looks good enough, but I just want to know that their room for drum tracking is on the level.

Anybody here who has been there and heard, or know somone that has ?? Any records I can hear where the drums were TRACKED there ??

I'm from Houston and Sound Arts is a good studio. Jeff Wells and his main engineer, a guy named Brian do good work and they have some great vintage gear (including a really cool Neve sidecar). Rock is mostly what they do. Sugar Hill has a lot more history and has produced the most famous recordings ever to come out of Houston (from the Big Bopper's "Chantilly Lace" to all the Freddy Fender hits in the 1970's to B.J. Thomas "Hooked on a Feeling"), but I don't think its any better than Sound Arts.

This band is about as "rock" as it gets. The drums that were cut at sugar hill sounded really good. especially the room sounds.

You are obviously biased

I worked there in the late eighties, and was very impressed with Jeff's engineering. If he comes with the room, I'd say you are in good shape. You can't go wrong with Dan Workman at Sugar Hill either. He is totally world class.

I recorded a rock project at at Sound Arts in Houston a couple of years ago, and it kicked ass.
Definitely some of the best drums sounds I've recorded.
Brian is really nice and so was Jeff...GREAT outboard. Neve sidecar, API eq's, 1176's, la-3a's etc. Great mics too.

I'll add to the Sound Arts recommendation. Brian is super. I have to give props to Dan and his crew at Sugar Hill as well. You'd be in good hands at either place.
