$950 is a great price.

Get some real speaker stands for them(improves the bass response). Also they are big. I have a pair of the 10's and i changed the wiring inside. Also the amp is important.

Its a great speaker for mixing hiphop and rnb.

The 1200 sounds like crap.

Tannoy really messed up in their later designs

Thrill,
What amp would you recommend here?

Digiman,

Stay away from older Bryston(4B and 4BST).

New Bryston's are much better(4BSST).

They sound better with big and open cleaner amps.

What's your price range?

$1500 or so? If I need to, I can spend a little more. I basically want to use this system to track on. I lose all inspiration trying to track to NF's.

If you could swing it, the ideal would be a HotHouse amplifier.

www.hohousepro.com

They make great studio amps/speakers and they support a lot of the Tannoy stuff.

They know what works in studios well.
