Help me to find a good eq

Hi there
I'm new in this forum as I'm finishing building my new studio ( but allready using it)
Here is the point
I'm looking for an eq (or 2 if I want to do it stereo) with "creamy low end" and "smooth Highs" if you know what I mean. I tried some Studer old console chanels wich I loved (cant remember the model though) and I'm a big fan of the eq section on the Neve Vr consoles but It's too early for me to change my desk.

Gimme some good advices !

PS sorry for my english

What kind of budget ?

Smooth highs and a great low end sunds like a Pultec to me.

Other options on the more expensive side might be 1073/1081/1084, Chandler, Massive Passive, api... there's a lot to choose from.

Great value would be the Speck eq.

How much € do you want to spend ?

thanks for the answer

for the budget, I would say around 2000 euros for a single channel and 3000 - 3500
for a stereo one

I like the chandler but I only tried the preamp...

of course the budget is not really the issue, were in the high end forum right? but we always want to get a good value for money.

never tried the massive passive, does it have a "pultec sound"? I have to say that I dont love the EQ of the Voxbox

HI! Good to hear from Europeans!
We go further like the Americans yeahhhh!

There are several EQ's for different applications!
For my opinion the Manley Massive Passive are a good tool to get smooth and warmth. But there are many others like Great River EQ 2NV for a good musical sounding. Crane Song are also smooth. Many of this guys here sit on a GML8200 built from Massenburg. Another good EQ is the SPL QURE with Lundahl transformers

I'm not really a fan from SPL but here is a guy from Moscow "GYang" he know something about the SPL.

And finally i must said sorry for me school english!
But i'm happy tu be a Slutz too!!!

Why don't you just get a racked pair of Studer eq, since you loved them? Apart from the usual suspects that get mentioned alot on Gearslutz, we euros can get our hands on German vintage eqs for little money. This companies sell racked pairs from Neumann, Telefunken, Siemens, Studer, Filtek,...: http://vintagecity.de/, http://www.hestudiotechnik.de/, http://www.vintagetools.de/

I haven't tried those, so maybe some other slutz can comment on them, but if their quality is anywhere near the German mic pres (V72, V76,...), you should consider these, as well.

The Neumann w491 is also a smooth sounding EQ.
Filtek MKIII is very clearly.
There is also a Stereo EQ W495 STB from Neumann.
