SSL X Logic Superanalogue Channel

Well the first review of the unit is out. It is in Sound on Sound's February edition which can be read on line if you have a subscription. I don't feel it's fair to cut and past the review here, but I will give some highlights.

They said it is a superb mic preamp, flexible signal processing archetecture. The X Logic Channels is a well engineered XL900K console channel strip in a compact 1U rackmount box with all the character and quality that you would expect. Expensive, but equally impressive. Preamp sounds big with a full and solid bass airy open high end. Mid range is clean and neutral. Tons of headroom. The dynamics are reasonably transparent in sound. with soft knee character. Hmmm

It also says the unit is derived directly from the circuitry of teh XL9000K consoles right down to the individual component values andd the unique DC couple preamps which means that there are no capacitors in the direct signal path.

I'm bumping this old thread to see if there are any more recent comments on this unit?

I tried a couple of these babies recently and was really really happy.

Total control of the sound shaping and a really nice A/D as well.

I preferred this over the E-signature series.
