Neve 10862

Does anyone know anything about this (I am copying and pasting the info I have received on this). Thanks for your help.

The 10862 is a 4 channel module out of a broadcast desk C1980. The module has been mounted inside a 1U rack case and includes all XLR in/out connectors, power supply (inc. phantom power). 0-60dB gain. Best quality Neve/Marinair input transformers

The 10862 was a Quad Amp Card from an Series 51 and some early V - Series.

They were used for buffering master sends and returns in the consoles master section. Fitted in the bottom of the master bucket on the V1 and V2s or in the card cage underneath on the 51 series.

There were some gain and transformer differences on the card, so they had a suffix like 10862/x

All 10862 cards I know have silver Belclere transformers, so maybe the Marinairs are added (or I'm wrong).
They could be modified to pres by an experienced tech.

Hi

If you are looking for balanced in and out = NO
If you are looking for stepped gain pots = NO
If you are looking for vintage Neve sound = NO
If you are looking for a circuit that was intended by Neve to be used as a mic pre = NO

I've already had to mod/fix a rack like this that had two pcbs stuck in an old DA90 distribution amp rack (which conveniently had the Neve logo on its front panel) and had hoped that it was the only one...

Apparently not... It would need to be modded to have Marinairs... the original card has Belcleres.

I thought as much. I was slightly surprised that this hadn't been sold a long time ago, so I suspected something less than fantastic... Thanks for your help - hadn't you been here I would probably have been foolish enough to go with 'Wow, it's a NEVE'.... I'll go back to my initial choice which is the Great River NP-1V.
