mixing console

Hi

I know this subject sucks, but...

Isn´t there a used console out there that fits me?

32ch (no in-line) with moving faders (no vca; Uptown GML…)
16 preamps 16 line in
direct outs
no multitrack bussing needed
4 stereo or 8 mono returns not automated (even on pots)
4band parametric EQ (even stepped)
switchable Inserts
2 stereo + 4 mono Aux (pre/post switchable) or more
no quad bus design or simmilar, just plain stereo
no extensive center section, just summing
no dynamics
no coffee cocking
no SSL G or simmilar

I want a GREAT sounding desk without all this extra gimmicks.
I like the sound of API, something in that range (but without the price if possible)

What type of old used, but (pretty) reliable desk would you suggest (would be great if there are still some spare parts around)?

Thanks in advance

I don't claim to be an expert on consoles but MCI 600 series would be close to your needs. The pres have a bit of color. I think the eq's are detented. Pretty decent sounding from the stuff I've heard. Neotek Elan's are also supposed to be great for the money also with nice sounding pres. People have compared the Sytek pres (same company that makes Neoteks) to API's though they don't have alot in common especially being that they are transformerless and class A.

The Neotek mic pre sounds great as does the EQ. The Elan has one stereo and four mono sends. 24 busses, not direct outs. It's in-line. It sounds great.

MCI's are great.. go for a 416 or 428 begoer any others.. simply cos they are FANTASTIC sounding and easy to repair...

The 500 series is a BEAST sonically but runs on +36V rails so it can be a real; tech headache.. which was its major shortcoming.EVen though they do sound good.

Im not so sure about 600's.... it hink its lvoe hate hting.. you either love them or hate them.
