Along with the stores people have listed don't overlook The Gearslutz For Sale forum.

Tape Op and Digidesign have good ones also.

Some people don't like it but Ebay has been good for me buying and selling.

Of course you don't get warranty, help with questions etc but sometimes you can't afford new and also you need to sell to be able to buy more gear. Just use common sense with your dealings.

I recommend Tony @ High Profile Audio also. Top guy, tells it like it is, no bullshit, always seems helpful. No patronising, talks to you as a friend would.

I don't wanna speak for him, but I get the impression he only sells gear he believes in, and believes is the best. He sells the stuff he actually uses himself, and demos new gear regularly. If he likes it, he'll stock it, if he doesn't he won't.

i recommend Mercenary (who sold me my speck 5.0.....which i tracked a band with today) and Vintage King(from whom I bought my Buzz SOC that i used to track the aforementioned band).

I'm gonna try Alto and see if they are cool.
