| Brad Lunde regarding stolen gear I had some time to kill last night and I searched for every single peice of gear you are missing individually on E-bay, there are a couple peices simular to yours, but nowhere near Las Vegas, found a couple 241s but they are in the UK. sorry I cant give you a more encouraging report, except you know that, if they are going to use E-bay, they have not done so yet. Figured that was the least I could do for kind of messing your thread up. Sorry man, that was an accident What happened to digibid.com, did they go down? wouldn't surprise me |

I don't think this stuff will ever be on ebay. Either it was a non-US studio with a shopping list, or it's on the street in Mexico somewhere. A GML protoype 2ch mic pre EQ? How on earth will you move that without me or GML knowing about it at some point? The SoundField? Hard to imagine that could disappear completely from my view in the US. I was one happy guy on New Years Eve. See ya 2003, don't let the door hit you on the way out! Brad

| Brad, I'm sure you know about recycler.com ? I think you have the recycler in Vegas. Searching on their web site searches all their papers. But, I'm sure you already know that. I've had a few recycler moments in the past where the phone # I called was a cell phone and they wanted to either come to my place or meet me in a parking lot to sell me gear. Yeah, right. That's a hot piece. I'm sure your hip to this, but if you do see something in the recycler that could be yours, try not to scare them off by asking for the serial #'s, or any uncomfortable questions. If they are the thief’s they will disappear before you have a chance. They are sort of like fish in that you have to hook them. More than likely if you check the unit out and it is yours....and you 'buy' it, they will probably let you know about some 'other' gear you might be interested in. Since you buying the piece makes them think you are not the original owner….then on the next round you bring the police with you. And you might need to have someone else do the calling and buying as the thief’s might know what you look like/sound like. Fleaman |

| Hey Brad, If you catch those burglars it could be your chance to seal your legend- Dirty Harry style! You really seem to be dealing with it well. They didn't vandalize the place did they? That would piss me off. David

| Brad that truly sucks. I've had stuff stolen, I know how it feels. Thieves are definitely the lowest form of life.

| It's amazing that in this small community that mostly consists of very good honest people that someone would do that. I hope the situation gets resolved in a quick and fair way. At the very least you've had enough of a loss to carry over for 10/+ years, with the going $3000/year loss expense deduction. I'll keep my eyes and ears open. Well wishes for you and your family.

| Lives for gear | Brad, I can't imagine at least some of those pieces will be recovered eventually and someone will be held accountable. I really sympathize with you, though. About three years ago, two burglers broke into my project studio and cleared the place out (not that I had any incredible audio kit there back then, the most expensive pieces I owned being a few 414s and 421s). What really killed me is that they stole my first guitar, as well as a cabinet which had our backups in it! We had just wrapped bass, drums, and main guitars and were nearly done with vocals- and this was on a sprawling 3 month project, and some of the nice kit was gear borrowed from an old teacher friend of mine. Worst part about it is that we know exactly who did it- I was away for the weekend, but the drummer and engineer were there and had ordered some pizza- apparently the pizza delivery guy walked inside and started scoping the place out, said he was a student at 5 Towns or something like that. The place was burgled the next day, and we heard a week later that he had opened up his own studio =P We told the cops all this information, they idiotically went and confronted him at his work place and he said "nope, had nothing to do with it", and the cops dropped the investigation. We were all set and ready to do a little covert ops into the dude's place but thought better of it when we heard he was real into drugs. Anyway- I'm sure everything will work out eventually and I hope you find a little more vindication than I did. |
