| API 3124M+ Live Mixer? Anybody using this thing as a live mixer? How's it working out? I'm so sick of using the Mackie at my steady gig. I usually only mic up a couple vocals and a couple guitars so it would fit my needs, I think. Does it have Aux sends, inserts, etc. It's hard to find anything resembling information on API's website. I know the API is probably overkill, but I think it might kick ass in a live setting and then pull double duty back home at the studio. Any thoughts? Thanks, Sean |

| It has one 'aux' [monitors?]... it should work fine for both live and studio applications... and it's only 1 rack space... so it'll be most easy to transport where ever you decide to take it.

| The ATI 8MX2 would be a good purchase for this application. Very diferent sounding than the API, but a great set of pres and very handy mixer. Especially useful for mobile recording. Fletcher, have you tried them yet? |

| Thanks for the input guys. I am concerned with flexibility. Are there sends and returns or inserts on each channel so I could run some compression. Also, would it be possible to integrate a reverb unit(mono) and still have an aux send for monitoring (daisy chaining). OK....so these are the things I want to be able to do. 1. 2 Vocal mics, 2 Acoustic Guitar DI's 2. Monitor( only one is needed) 3. Run a Lexicon LXP15 for vocal reverb(mono is fine) 4. Compress individual tracks to keep them in there place. Can this be done with the 3124M+? That is the question. Thanks, Sean |

| Maybe you should consider Speck Xtramix. |

| Sean- You should be able to accomplish all four of your objectives. The 3124M+ has one aux (for your reverb), inserts on each channel (for your comps) and a stereo ouput -- you can use one side for mains and the other for monitors, assuming you don't need a stereo FOH mix. Try hitting the API website and downloading the PDF file for this unit, which should give you all the info you need. Later.

| Great, that should work. I usually run things mono anyway. I would just have to find a way to control volumes between the mains and monitors. Are there separate pots for the right and left master outs or just a single pot? Sean I'll try the API site, but is it me or is there nothing on in. |
