Your favorite colored EQ For me it's the Manley Massive Passive Worthy notice is the Great River EQ. Your favorite clean EQ Though the Ibis is close, I still love the GML EQ Worthy notice also is the new Langevin Mini Massive. It is able to make any of my tracking sound better while maintaining the original sound. |

I dig the crunchy lil summit pultec.... and anything Neve. my favorite new EQ technique is boosting above a lowpass or below a highpass... fun fun fun..

Colored no doubt is a PULTEC EQP-1a3 Clean no doubt a SHEP SN-8. Although it is not crystal clean, it is like a Neve only it doesn't bring quite as much of its own color. It adds to color that is already there. A Magical EQ. A lot of times Neve EQs are too colored for me and I prefer Shep. Sometimes I like to hear the guitar like it sounds at the amp without the extra color of a 1073 or 1081. |

The three favorites of the dozen or so that I have are: 1. Neve 1084 pair 2. Massive Passive 3. Logic Pro's Linear EQ plugin is the EQ that I use most often-- No one ever hypes it but I am very happy with it. |

Massive Passive fan here. I like the Ibis but I prefer the color of the Manley. Something about what it does to the bass is just yummy. |

Summit EQP200. Great color, pultec response. unsung hero: Meyer CP-10 parametric. Super clean! Channel EQ: Aurora GTQ-2 Mk2, and Chandler Channel Mk2. Both have vibe & mojo well worth mentioning! Last edited by Jim vanBergen; 27th December 2006 at 02:50 AM.. Reason: Can't leave out Geoff & Wade! |

API 550b, guitars and random rock things Massive Passive Ibis GML 8200 Neve 1084 I love all of those for different reasons, but currently don't own any, so I'm at the mercy of the rooms I go to, which, often leads to dissappointment. I found it interesting that no one picked the Great River EQ. I think many will like the Min Massive. I am awe struck on the clean but gentle color it adds. The Empircal Labs Lil Freq also seems to be a damm good clean EQ. Don't like the look of it much, but it seems like a great sculpting EQ. Of course Cranesong has made a huge mark with the Ibis. One EQ will never fit the bill for everything, but even having one of these hardware EQ's that you all have mentioned seem to help out tracks a lot. |
