Is anybody familiar with this particular peice?

I know there is a site http://www.vintageaudio.org/

where he builds and mods these units. but has anyone used any of these and what are you feelings about this partucular peice of gear? worth having in the rack?

Thats what I thought. Those vocals sure sounded warm and airy. No phantom power on the unit itself (not a biggie) but I spoke with Mckae Garner and he stated that you could also use this peice with an amp head.

well either way I found one for $275, i figure for that price. I might be able to pick up a decent peice

I've got one of these....unfortunately it went caput within months or purchase, and its taking forever to get it back from the TiVintage repair shop. He does seem to stand by his products although.
I was most impressed with it on the room drum mic, and bass. Definetely a character preamp.
