Thread Starter | SAE Sell Neve BURNLEY, LANCASHIRE, U.K., December 19, 2006 — As part of a comprehensive business plan addressing international brand expansion and positioning, it was announced today that Oribi Investments Ltd. has secured major interest in AMS Neve Ltd. The investment in AMS Neve by Oribi Investments Ltd. is part of Oribi’s ongoing plans to develop an investment portfolio in the film, broadcast and audio technology manufacturing sectors. The announcement comes on the heels of AMS Neve celebrating its 45th anniversary, and the acquisition is the culmination of a series of negotiations between Oribi Investments Ltd and the company’s original shareholders SAE Educational Trust Ltd. and AMS Neve Director Mark Crabtree. In the new structure, SAE will remove itself from the day-to-day operations of AMS Neve Ltd., however will continue to supply valuable industry information to support the company's development of market driven products. Mr. Crabtree will continue to lead the Company. Oribi Director Mr. Manoj Purayil said, “We have been very interested in investing in high end European electronics development and manufacturing for some time and recognize the quality, appeal and potential of the AMS Neve range in its respective markets.” “SAE have provided AMS Neve Ltd. substantial financial and other support over the past 18 months but recognize that with the continuing need for large investment in R&D and the projected release of new products, the time had come to attract a third shareholder which would bring with them a series of additional funding and other benefits,” said Dr. Tom Misner, the SAE Group Founder & President. Mr. Crabtree adds, “Our markets are always hungry to embrace advances in the art and science of professional audio technology, and AMS Neve is widely recognized for leading the way in these exciting areas. We continually strive to provide our customers with the all-important competitive ‘edge’ that our advanced and innovative products can bring to their operations. The recent restructure will pave the way to take the business to the next level.” The AMS and Neve brands are synonymous with the world’s best audio, film and broadcast products and equipment. AMS Neve Ltd. will continue to lead the way with the proposed announcement for the release of a number of new products for 2007. |

Thread Starter | It is from the ams neve website. Not sure what the hungary thing is. From the sae press release I guess the two things aren't directly connected and Oribi is buying another company in hungary. |

| Who are "Oribi Investments Ltd"? I did a little digging and the words "front" and "shell" spring to mind. As to the DR thing, you think Dre got a phd? (although he deserves one) I heard AMS-NEVE have taken on the guy who did all the Chinese production line for Behringer. Interestingly Hungary becomes an EU country on the 1st Jan 2007 which could be a nice little import tax solution. Since the Misner take over pretty much nothing product wise had appeared. Methinks Misner and Crabtree didn't hit it off that well. |

| Gear interested | Please remember good people that it is not Neve, but AMS Neve - the nearest thing to a Neve coming out of the factory in the last few years was the 88R, and that thanks to Robin Porter - nothing to do with Mr (AMS) Mark Crabtree. The plan was always for Mark Crabtree to rest back what he has always believed was his by right in the first place. Tom Misner realised that he doesn't have deep enough pockets for R&D and new product. Mark Crabtree yet again played a blinder, but he is in the wrong job. The whole of the digital range of product is 'challenged.' They have also pissed off a lot of customers and users, who have long memories. Simply, they are light years behind and need a fist full of money to turn it around - and a fairy wand. |

| Lets face it nobody likes the AMS Neve stuff apart from the reissues of the Neve gear. 88R is supposed to be getting back in the right direction. I wish they would concentrate on making the AMS outboard again instead- but am I right in thinking they dont have the rights? ![]() |
