| Mojave Audio MA-200 vs. MXL V69 vs. M-Audio Sputnick In general...............but also, particularly for bluegrass, folk, americana, acoustic rockabilly, and acoustic music in general. Thanks. |

| I haven't tried the Mojave yet, but from what I've read, people are comparing it to mics twice it's cost, based on that alone, I would say it is significantly better than the other options mentioned. |

| I've only used two of the 3. While I liked the Mojave on vocals...I HATED it on acoustic gtr, so...the Sputnik did well on everything and the multipattern made it much more universally useful, IMO. Although, honestly, for mellow acoustic general purpose....a good 414 is a better mic than any Chinese "toob" LDC. If you can get a deal and/or used...you can ge a 414 and a Sm7b for the price of the Mojave. That would handle you need for a middy mic....and a shiny pretty scooped mic. And you'll never get rid of them. |

Yeah, I already have a pair of 414-XLS's which I like a fair amount. I was interested in getting a tube mic. These brands came to mind. Any others to recommend? Budget is $1000 or under............... | |

| I just picked up a Mohave plus a Peluso 2247le, they both compliment each other pretty well, the Peluso is very natural sounding while the Mohave gives a bit more sheen on things.. especially on vocals. I liked it on my old Yamaha acoustic running it through a germ, it sounded a little scooped in the mids kinda like an Over the hills and far away tone. Gonna try it on a drumset this weekend as a mono overhead.. So far I think it's worth the price. |

| Royer ...I mean Mojave For a grand you cannot do better. I am a HUGE advocate of the MA-200. Actually, I sold one this morning and can't wait to talk to my guy AFTER he hears it. Sure, you can't put it up against an M149, but who cares? For acoustic instruments, too, I actually like it better than the ribbon (122) I was using. It has just enough color to sweeten up fingerstyle guitar, but vocals are where it's at.
