Guitar->iPhone->Amp. Need a piece of gear to facilitate this!

Hey All,

I need a piece of gear (cheap, hopefully!) to facilitate the following connections: Acoustic Guitar (w/pickup)->iPhone->Amp.

Does anybody have a preferred piece of gear for this aside for a full blown audio interface? (my normal interface is too cumbersome for this application)

This here ( Amazon.com: TASCAM iXZ Mic / Instrument input for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch: Musical Instruments ) by Tascam is the right idea, but I would prefer a 1/4 inch output.

Thanks!

edit: here's another ( Amazon.com: IK Multimedia iRig Stomp: Musical Instruments ), but it seems to me that $60 is a lot to pay for such as simple tool. :/

bump with an imperfect DIY solution: Plug Your Guitar into your iPhone and iPad with this DIY iRig | Cult of Mac

Uses just an RCA cable put causes impedance issues. Thoughts?

Well, after an embarrassing amount of research I went with an iBlox ( The RapcoHorizon Company - iBLOX ) -due mainly to some nice price matching from 8thstreetmusic.
If anyone is looking in on the thread, you really need a battery-powered device with some impedance matching capabilities. A DIY workaround without this will add noise/hum/other unwanted side-effects.
The iRig stomp (around $60) is probably the best solution on the cheap.
