What are you looking forward to in 2007?

Could be gear, music, mortgage payments being up, anything!

Here are some of the things I'm looking forward to in 2007 (in no particular order):

-Some time off!!! (At least in January/February.)

-New Bad Religion double album.

-Collecting all payment up front before each session

-Being increasingly more selective with projects I take on.

-Seeing my son turn 2.

-Possibly amassing 1/30th the amount of gear that Armando Avila has.

-More great guest moderators on Gearslutz!

-Singing Pink Floyd's "Pigs" as a guest vocalist at a band-I-produced-this-year's CD release party on New Years.

-Finally releasing an album of original material (Isn't that my goal every year? *sigh*)

How about you guys? What are you looking forward to in 2007?

Starting my new biz venture, and hopefully seeing some mailbox money come from it by '08.

Saying NO to the gigs I don't enjoy in '07!

A healthy year for all my family and friends.

exciting 2007 things?

- opening a shop based around the sexiest console of all time. which will have an ashtray built into the armrest. with a button that will open up the bottom and empty into a small garbage can below. shit yes.

- a bunch of the records i'm doing this year are really good. i'll be recording and mixing one of the coolest releases of the year before the end of march.

- a new year-subscription to the onion.

Looking forward to moving the mics farther away from the sounds I'm recording, and bringing my 1" 8 track back in for a project.

Is that trash can for the CDs of session files that the clients record at home on their Mbox and bring in that they are convinced are "keeper" tracks?

For the first time in my life I will be getting a bit slutty. The beginning of this new year will mark the end of an era for my and my prude gear.

I am getting a ton of money for the new year because I didn't get a birthday present for my 21st birthday, and I made 2 whole websites for my dad without him paying me yet. SOOO....

1.) Selling my mbox2 for about 125$ to some lucky person on GS because I will be so happy.
2.) Buying a 002r, using rigorously until mid-february when I will send it to BLA for the mod. I will then (hopefully) love my 002R.....
3.) Hopefully finding a well priced ME-2NV on here and buying that.
4.) Buying an SM7.
5.) 2x Senn e609 silvers
6.) A Hamburg Mk2 and Vienna Mk2

and last but certainly not least....

building a vocal booth.

Also, I am looking for an internship for this coming spring and summer. If you guys have any suggestions for some good recording studios or post houses let me know! I will go anywhere as long as I learn a TON and it is a good experience. This is probably what I am most excited about....leading my own life!

I'm also looking forward to learning enough about Logic to actually be able to use it. And finishing my Eisen preamps. And playing more guitar and bass. And I need a girlfriend.

Looking forward to having my car repaired, promptly.

Just got hit pulling into the parking lot at the studio today.

Sickening. Ughhh!!!

The guy was letting me cross into the lot, when he decided to look away (on the phone, no less) and basically rolled into my car. Amazing how much damage can be done at even 3MPH.

And can you believe I was actually publicly scorned by the gay man that hit me? It was a bit humorous, I must say.

Smashed my rear door/rear quarter panel, as well as warping my rear wheel. Couldn't even drive it back home. And of course, no insurance adjuster available until Tuesday.

But nonetheless, I'm looking forward to an even better year than 2006. I made it out of New Orleans alive. Over one year later and I am sincerely happy with the decision to relocate.

Cheers!!!

Yeah, the Audi....

It hurts. I was genuinely upset about it.

Hopefully it will be sorted out quickly. At least I'll get a rental until it's repaired.

James recommended me his body shop, Western Collision. He's had his BMW rear-ended three times this year.

It's a bit ironic that I had the accident in the first place. My wife told me that she wanted a night to herself, so I left and went to work.

The last accident I had was in 1990 when my mother asked me to take -off because she wanted to wrap Christmas presents.

From now on, I listen to no women. Haha!!!

Dude, I swear ever since they 'renovated' those speed bumps on your street my car bottoms-out every time. Geez.

Better balance between mixing & my private life...bit more efficiency...a bit more streamlining from the whole team...it's those last few percents that make life a little easier...
But most of all: More of the same !!!!
