Thread Starter | New album all to tape and an amazing drummer!! So we are starting an album project and the producer wants to go all to tape. Yaaa! I had to make sure I could find 4 reels in town. Guitar Center even had 4 reels of GP-9. Mega drummer Kenny Aronoff is doing all the drums tracks. I will keep you guys posted how things go and maybe get some drums tracks posted. Peace, Todd

Thread Starter | Just one 2" machine. Studer A800 III. Kenny brought a 5" and a 6 1/2" x 14 of his Tama signature snares. Wow. I don't think I have heard the drum room light up with snare volume like that. Don Dixon is doing some mono things. One U47 on the grand piano with the lid off. Listening to the drums with mostly the u87 and royer with some kick and snare. The drums have a u87 close to the floor back to the left of Kenny pointing towards the snare. 2 km-84's as overheads, spaced pair and one overhead Royer 121 dead center. 421's on the toms, 57 snare top, no snare bottom mic. 414's TLII on the room. Sounds great. Everyone is loving the studio and sounds, so all is well. Have to get back. Peace, Todd |
