Serving Guinness on tap at home!

Great news! I just converted my kegerator over to pour guinness for the winter. I wonder how long a 15 gallon keg is supposed to last one man?

guinness...

I believe a keg has 96 pints in it, so we should be able to figure this out. If you drink 10 pints a day, it'll last just over two weeks, no?

I've always wondered how long a keg is good for if it is kept cool and I hear varied answers every time I ask someone. I've got two mini fridges at my parents house sitting unused and I always wonder if I made a kegerator if I could drink the goods fast enough.

I could always get one of the smaller import kegs too. Hmm...

It was so incredible I dont remember most of it
Never could get a nitrogen tank to pour Guinness, though.
Always CO2 and a pony keg of another good beer, or sadly..bud light often.dfegad

The isinglass is retained in the floor of the vat but it is possible that minute quantities might be carried over into the beer.

To the best of my knowledge most Guiness for export outside Ireland is pasteurised and re-gassed and not technically "Real Ale", therefore there would be no residue of finnings in the beer.

Cheers

Yeah, i got lucky and found my local brew shop in Berkeley was able to provide the nitro blend tank for guinness. 7 days & my first keg of guinness is about to kick. Can't say I didn't have help from some pals polishing it off. Guess i'll have to pour some Boddingtons once the weather gets warmer.

I used to have a kegerator back in the day

I used to think having a kegerator and disco ball was a sign that I made it.

I used to make my own beer so I used cornelias kegs so I could have three

kegs on tap at any time . I had a lot of friends

beer has a shelf life of three months .

that also depends on how much sugar is in the beer, beer with alot of sugar

can last a long time.

when you brew your own that changes a little , plus you dont get hang overs

off home brew , its not pasturized like the stuff you buy in the stores, so it has

all the healthy contributions beer has to offer like vitamin b3 . if you ever get a

hang over the best thing to take is b3. plus the dead yeast is supposed to be

good for you to. its like buying OJ or any fruit drink or vegitable drink in the store

they take out all the good stuff with cooking it ( pasturized).

Yeah, i got the slow pour euro spout, guinness coupler/tap & traded in my CO2 tank for a nitrogen/C02 tank. I ordered the conversion kit online so it didn't take much thought.

Pasteurization wouldn't change the fact that there could be minute amounts of Isinglass. I really couldn't care (I'm from Iowa, there's meat in the air!), but I would imagine that most vegetarians would!

Me? I use Irish Moss. But I'm trying to avoid chill-haze. A little left over yeast never hurts anything. . .

Lucky bastard. . . Guinness on tap!

I Salute You!
