| Gateway??!?!? Ok, so I buy a cheapo Gateway laptop (just for general use and abuse, mind you) and I wind up using it at my work, 'cuz it does a better job than the Mac on 90% of the stuff I do. (Handling audio, mostly.) Well, on Tuesday I put a major hurt on the CD/DVD drive and broke it. Badly. I hit up Gateway online to chat with a tech guy and resolve the issue in 20 minutes! They're sending me a new drive and the means to ship back the old one, for free. Granted, it's all under warranty, but I thought for sure I was going to have a repeat of the Dell service call for my Aunt's computer... India- "What color is the light?" Me- "The light is off." India- "The light is in the lower right corner, what color is it?" Me- "I see where the light should be, but it is off." India- "Are you sure the light is off?" etc... But no, Gateway handled my problem relatively quickly without treating me like a moron (I'm no super genius, but I build all of my towers that I use for music production, so I know when a light isn't working). That's all. Rock and/or Roll!! I |
