Excuse my ignorance, but I seem to have missed the boat on this one. Can you give me a title, author, ISBN, anything, so I can go look this one up myself? Also, you might be interested in this....

Some guy wrote a free, downloadable e-book all about the making of Revolver. Haven't had a chance to dive into it yet, but it should be amazing considering the price.

Thanks,
Eric

YEAH YEAH YEAH

Hey Aaron...
When did you place your order? I put mine in on July 15th, and as they're shipping FIFO, I'd really like to know.

Thanks

Thanks re: Revolver. I actually got that one already, only perused a few pages to date, but it seems fairly well done. Can't beat the price that's for sure.

Not sure when I ordered it, but I'm #118.

Folks I can't begin to give you an idea of all of the stuff that this book covers. Just a basic overview tells so many things that we all wanted to know for years. most notably for me was info on the altec compressor...an altec it ain't. Well it was heavily modified. They actually used it on the stereo buss and on Pauls bass a lot. A very important piece of gear. It comp[letely goes into detail on all the consoles they used. I mean every knob and function. Lennys console isn't the "beatle" console after all. well sort of. it came from Abbey Road #1. So they did use it.
THe book also details the use of the EMI designed REDD47 instead of the legendary "beatle" V72s.
This is one of the most beautifully put together packages I have ever seen. Probably the best $100 I have ever spend on a studio related piece. (to me information and technique is worth far more than a piece of gear...sorry fellow sluters)
I'll try to update

Hey fellas I'm still looking up there, but someday I'll hit that gold mine in my head.
I can't wait to go back & try some of these techniques on my local bands. I actually recently had started to go back and do kind of a Glyn Johns 4 mic thing, so I might vary it with the Geoff Emerick 3 mic theory. It's not for everything, but it's fun to go back and play around.
I was very happy to read about all of the other little boxes that helped expand the consoles. Extra eq's, de-essing equipment, etc. I never did see any pultecs mentioned, which I think comes up incorrectly from time to time.
Watch for items mentioned on ebay to go thru the roof.

1 cool side note, the book gives a real sense how abbey road was laid out.

I don't recall having a number in the confirmation e-mail.

The book itself, however, is hand numbered (on the title page).

My book is 232 and arrived yesterday, so I'm sure they're getting that first wave out as quickly as they can.

Thanks for the good reviews. It's good to have it in people's hands after all the years of work...

The books are shipped out exactly in the order received. However, due to location, service, etc., some have arrived before others.

I emailed orderhelp@curvebender.com - which is the one you are listing on the website - It seems reasonable, if you have a question regarding your order, to use the email address you give for exactly this purpose. Customers shouldn't have to communicate via GS. I think we've all been very patient (since 9th april).

I'm sure the books gonna be great but "we're too busy" is no excuse for a lack of communication, especially as you have had my money for nearly 6 months.

Hey I am #311, mine was shipped on the 20th and won't be here for a few more days. I am in L.A., not that far from Dallas.

So how come you got yours before me?

As said before - I don't get those emails. You could also have deduced how to reach me personally here, if the situation is urgent.

Many people are now asking "When do I get my book?". This is not possible to answer, as we are not the postal service.

The only information that may help you is books ship in the order they are purchased. The first books ordered shipped on Friday - several hundred. Some books to California (for example) arrived in one day. Others have taken more than 5 days to the same place. Overseas books will definitely take a while (we have no idea how long), as they must cross a larger distance and pass through Customs and then your own postal service.

PLEASE - if you want other specific information, write to me here. I am traveling on the East Coast and not always on the internet. I don't have all the answers, but am available otherwise, more than Kevin, who is BEYOND busy.
