Having some fun

Reso had so much fun with his scammer, I thought we could mess with this guy a little.
I just got this e-mail..

"My name is Daniel Williams and I am an artist.I live in
United Kingdom,I sell Arts and have sold in galleries and to private
collectors
from all around the world,i am always facing serious difficulties
selling my art works to Americans, they are always offering to
pay with a US MONEY ORDER,which is difficult for me to cash here in
United Kingdom.
I am looking for a representative in the USA who
will be working for me as a Partime Worker and i will be willing to pay
10%
for every transaction, someone who would help me recieve payments from
my
customers in USA.

If you are interested, please get back to me
on this email (dan_wi11s@yahoo.es)ASAP.

Daniel Williams"

Finally heard back from this fokker. Here is what he wrote:

"Hello
I am most grateful for your mail, and I seize this opportunity to thank you for coming to my rescue and to also let you know that this transaction is a straight forward and legal transaction. I hope you were not too embarrassed by my first email to you since you do not know me.I had no option so I resorted to putting fate to test and making a random contact. I got your email address from the web email directory and decided to introduce my plight and this transaction. I am communicating with only you at this moment with regards to this transaction and I would not have any cause to do otherwise.
I've had diffrent dealing with many Americans and i believe they are very honest.I look forward to a very trustworthy relationship.
Presently i have a client who is offering to pay me $2,000 in form of a POSTAL MONEY ORDER.Please i would like to know if you"ll be able to assist me in cashing it.If you could,i want you to give me (YOUR NAME)to whom the check will be made payable to and your PHYSICAL ADDRESS where the check will be mailed to and phone number.I will like to know if i can count on you to send back the balance after deducting your percentage and any extra charges.
May God almighty reward you.
Best Regards
DANIEL"

Wonder if I can get this guy arrested?

I really need a post office box for this. Anyone have one I can "borrow"? I'd rather not give this lunatic my real home address...

Good God man, must you make it so obvious you are scamming someone?

What legitimate seller would assure the buyer that the transaction is legal as their first sentence, or in any sentence for that matter...

My friend lost $3000 to one of these guys about 10 months ago, so seeing this guy get arrested would give me some satisfaction.

Does that make me a bad person? He's the one scamming, right?

NM, this guy...

Make sure you are using a bunk email address!! I, like an idiot, responded to that spammer who posted here a week back with the $200 Xbox 360's. I used one of my email addresses that I use semi-regularly. I gave him the run around and called myself Mick Mars. I signed his email address up for a bunch of gay porn websites and other random crap. Well low and behond, I started recieving emails from a supposed 'Russian bride to be' calling me Mick! I wasn't him though, the emails really came from Moscow. Guess he got me back by signing me up for some bullcrap! LOL

give him a fake address (one that does NOT exist, you don't want some poor fool getting a bunk money order), then take a page from Resonator's book and play either the "okay, got it - now go to western union 57 times" game, or the "never arrived... maybe try this address..." game.

Perhaps explain that you are in the middle of moving?
Just create some confusion about your "changing address", problems with landlord, divorce from cheating wife etc. etc. and see what scammer boy comes up with....

Greetings,
Dirk

oh yeah.... think of the fun to be had coming up with a whole series of reasons WHY you are moving. Escaping the potato famine. Old house was built on an indian burial ground. Witness protection program. OK, your turn!

Give him a FAX NUMBER. Perhaps the fax number for the police. That should help to string him along while you go back & forth telling him you 'don't know why he can't reach anyone at that number', and you keep trying to help him solve the "problem with the phones due to 9/11 security changes".

Seems he's not smart enough to call the phone # I gave him....this should be fun.
I got this from him today:

"I have contacted my customer and he will be sending out the payment to you via regular mail today or tomorrow, he said US regular mail take about 3-4 days to be deliverd depending on the state you live, am sure you will be getting the payment by next week.
Confirm this is fine with you.
Thanks"

My reply was: "Sounds Great!"

Thanks! I haven't got it yet, but will eagerly check the mail tomorrow. I'm so excited to make some $$! My wife and I are really poor, and we have a lot of bills, so this is going to be like an early Christmas for us. Maybe for new years we can party together? I think that would be fun!"

Go for it.

Make sure to throw in some made up medical terms for no reason. Confuse the hell out of the guy.

Or, see if he will front you the fees that Western Union charges. Try to get him to send you money.

Have fun.

Hey, I got the money order!! I gotta be honest though, this a lot of money, and I'm not really sure I wanna send you any of it yet. I sure could do a lot with this money. I'll take it to the local police department soon to make sure it's legit also. You can never be too careful these days. I guess if it is legit, I'll send you your share...

I'll be in touch in a few days. "
