My first Album/EP is done

I just completed a project for the first time of my life.

For my own bands and music I've recored roughly 50 songs in my short time of being into recording. Very few of which ever became more than a "for fun" thing.

Anyway this is done and is in the process of being pressed onto CD's right now. I did everything but performed the drum tracks myself, my drummer performed the tracks and also co-wrote a couple of the songs. I knew to start this project wasn't going to be perfect but it definitely is a reasonable representation of us and our music, that's all I was after.

Including printing and pressing fees and gear I bought solely for this project, but will get to keep for future use, I spent about $3,000, I already had more everything, just wanted a couple of extra mics, and most of my spare time over the last 6 months. The songs were also written during the recording process so that took some time.

Unfortunately it's not a full-length, it's a 22 minute long 5 song EP but that's ok with me.

So yes! This is extremely good news. I've completed something, as I said it's not perfect...but that is why I play "rock n roll"

We've already got great response on our myspace for the few songs we released early, early mixes of.

We've got 3 show dates throughout California confirmed, and 3 more in the works. A big CD release party we are of course headlining that will pay us about 80% of the door. We are expexting 200+ people to attend and expect to sell 50-100 CD's.

Everything is going great for my band, it's exciting. We're not big or popular by any standard but we are, for the first time in my life, getting a lot of good responses.

Congrats man!!!

More power to ya brother. I reckon more and more bands are gonna break from this DIY angle.

Cool stuff on myspace. I really liked 'The Next Morning'!!!

Thanks, just a note, those songs were just an early mix. I've spent a couple months of work on them sense then.

I can't wait to see the real CD's
