I just won a piano for $10

Ebay is amazing sometimes.
I just won this piano for around ten dollars.
Apparently it is from 1898.
It is only about 20 miles away from me also.
Stoked!

It'll cost you more in beer to get some buddies to help you move it!

Congrats! I hope it plays and most importantly, sounds great! thumbsup

Are you sure it's not just an 8x10 picture of the piano?

Oh you cynics!
This is Switzerland- people wouldn't dare break the law here. :-) :-)

No, I spoke to the chap- he is glad to be getting shot of it- I just need an upright for the odd acoustic recording.

At 10 francs, I think I can risk it anyway.

Update:

LOL... the owner has refused payment.
What I mean is he doesn't want any money for it- granted 10chf is a bit of a wate of time sending over- anyway the piano mover is booked for Friday.
That alone is $200- so it isn't like it is free, but pretty happy over all.

Last update-

It's here- it plays, but needs a bit of a tune.
I've looked it up- it was made in 1898 in Bern, Switzerland.
Needs to be refinished- a fw scratches and such- but... WOW!

Congradulations. Piano's rock. Few instruments are such a pleasure to just sit in a nice room and play. So many overtones...

Have fun - maybe upload a MP3 once you get it up and running.

Plug is right. I helped my friend move his two pianos, one of them twice! That was last summer and I still pull out my piano-moving trump card.

"Man, I am out of cash and need another pint. Remember when I helped you move those pianos last summer?"
