Finally going full time!

So, I finally got up the courage to make the jump from a demanding "real" job with music on the side, to going full time with music. Since Wednesday I've been 100% self employed. I am excited. Music has been a "downsized" part of my life the last 10 years and to be getting that back is rewarding and thrilling (and hopefully profitable)

Being the father to 4 kids and having lots of responsibilities its pretty humbling in some ways, but that just drives me to work harder. I have one project in particular that has the potential to give me a massive boost in momentum if things go well - it will be late spring or early summer before I really know for sure, but I'm excited about it.

I know this is a tough business, I've been in it and around it in some way shape or form for nearly 20 years and I am no fool. But these days many "real" jobs don't offer a whole lot of security either, so why not work hard on building my dreams instead of building someone else's ?!?!

Anyway, thats my bit of good news! I am using a temporary website for now as a "placeholder" and hope to get a nice robust site up and going soon. I'm doing all the "sales and marketing" work right now to help fill the pipeline, but I also feel blessed to have 3 pretty good projects already in house that I'm starting to work on - so thankful for that.

Good for you! I only have 1 kid and I'm too scared to make the switch, but I'm sure if I did and it worked out I'd be a lot happier. Best of luck to ya!

Congratulations mate and I wish you every success. It is tough yeah in the spells where you don't know where the next job is coming from, but if you work hard enough at selling yourself, you'll have plenty of luck!
