| Well it ain't Billboard or the Grammys but... While not quite as monetarily satisfying as picksail's news, we just got news that two of our ensembles here at the University of Northern Colorado have won their respective divisions in Downbeat magazine's annual dB Student Recording Awards. Our orchestra and top big band have been named the top college ensembles in north america. For the orchestra this is the 5th time since 1999 and the 2nd year running for the big band. It's fun to get recognition for two completely different styles of recording! One of our students who graduated last spring also won for best jazz compostion/arrangement or some such for a big band chart he wrote that I recorded as well. Not a bad haul for 1 year! ![]() |

| Thanks guys! I just found out that the runner-up for the Big Band division was another of my recordings done for our friends/rivals at the University of Colorado who come down and use our facility. Just the way it should work! ![]()
