we start recording after new years

hi

just thought i would share some good news. the band i am in applied to the government for money to help with recording our album and we got it so we have been able to hire an acousticly designed space to record in( the local theatre, yes i have recorded here before and sounds wicked) and also allow us to hire in some mics that we simply could not afford to own. so that is all cool. also i am gonna be a dad again so its all happening in my part of the world.

cheers and merrry christmas

hi

i live in australia. in australia a large portion of all money the government gets from gambling has to go to the community to help with charitys, schools, the arts and the like. are we the only country to do this.

cheers

hi

we can't buy gear with the money but we can hire mics and studio time, pay to get it mixed and masteed professionally, stuff like that. it is a bit time consuming with all the paper work but apart fromn that it is cool and all the money comes from a major arts governing body that actaully supports alot of touring shows so they have a record of you and some times you can get lucky so it does have its perks

cheers

hi djui5

yeah we got the start of the money, we got enough to allow us to track the album or what ever it is. we had our first session with our producer and he said that we should do a 6 song demoish ep but we want to do an album so i am sure that there will be many discussions yet. we worked on our first song with our producer tonight and i must that a producer is the best thing since sliced bread.

his unattached insight was worth its weight in gold.

will keep you all posted

cheers

In Chile we have a system where, once a year, you can apply for a grant in any field of the Arts by submitting a proposal to be judge among many others. The winner gets the money, and in return you'd have to ex: perform a certain amounts of times in public events. I have some friends that got them, and it can be very welcome support
