Just finished working on the funnest project of my career (so far!)

Here is a two song preview:

The Bookseller's House | Rogue Valley

The band is fantastic.

Such a departure from what I usually do (pop/rock stuff).... definitely going for more vintage drum & guitar tones...

The producer who I work a lot with (Mark Stockert.... great guy!) has an absolutely siiiiccckkkk studio. More than 40 vintage guitars.. 15-20 vintage amps... vintage microphones... etc etc.... almost all of which older than me.

Mark is the KING of tone.

Totally the right vibe for the record....

Just so much fun to get outside of my "modern pop/rock" comfort zone.

For the slutz out there:

Here is his equipment page (We know we know... we are working on a new website!)

Equipment

One thing I know the list is missing are the Genelec's.

Cheers!

It sounds good! Making old sounding records is great! I've been working some with an indie pop group that wants kind of a 60's brittish vibe to their music and I'm very fond of the results.
We were, however, on a very low budget so nothing is actually vintage. :P

Very cool!

Its fun to not have to edit things hard to a grid... or tune everything within an inch of its life... or put samples in etc...

I really do think in some/most cases all that work makes the project better, but its fun to just record the music and just mix it for 4 hours and be done....

I think its cool to have some imperfections in a mix..
