Thread Starter | my new fireface800 i called guitar center today to see if they had any RME FF800s in stock. they had one, but it was a return with a "dead" tag on it. the guy working there (friendly and knowledgeable (yes at GC)) said to me "look, i need to get rid of this thing. come in and get it at cost, given that you will send it in for repair". i said "i will see you soon" i get there, and he says "so i've never plugged this in to see what was wrong, but here you go if you want it". so i request that we plug in to the iMac they have at the store 5 yards away. we plug it in, and it launches flawlessly. i bring it home (at *COST*) and it launches flawlessly. an unregistered FF800 at cost. someone just had a lucky day. |
