Thread Starter | Austin Legend Jon Dee Graham Releases New CD I am proud to announce that my dear friend Jon Dee Graham will be celebrating the release of his 6th studio effort tonight, the effort is promptly titled Its Not As Bad As It Looks. "Recorded by Jon Dee Graham and his incomparable band The Fighting Cocks (Michael Hardwick, Abdrew DuPlantis and Joseph Shuffield) and produced by the mysterious Trinity of Terror Team (Stuart Sullivan of Wire Recording and fellow G/S member included) and released by longtime associates (and member of the JonDeeCo Corporate Family) Freedom Records, "we believe this to be our best yet, exceeding our already high-standards and setting a newbenchmark in quality, vision and innovation." Jon Dee's weekly Continental Club gig in south Austin is a mainstay of the local scene, the weekly shared bill with another fave and legend James McMurtry is about the best damned 10 bucks you can spend in this town for live music in my humble opinion. Jon Dee was in a terrible auto accident and seen his share of hard knocks the last couple of years, his health insurance company went belly up about the time his son Willie was diagnosed with Legg Perthes disease which causes degeneration of the hip joints, with the help of the great local community and friends far and wide I'm glad to say Willie is doing well...Jon Dee is doing ok too, tough SOB! Thus it is with great joy I announce my brother is back in the ring! I'm not too good at this so I will direct you to Mr Grahams Wiki page and if you give a damned about American Music (Americana ect.) I suggest you read it. Jon Dee Graham - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And congrats to Stuart Sullivan Engineer of Wire Recording and fellow Gear Slut, Stuart has continued his fine work with Jon Dee on this effort and deserves props just for taking on the challenge....and his work is pretty damned fine to boot! We will be celebrating life and music at the Continental Club tonight and unveiling another chapter in fine Texas music. Congrats to my friends and I thank them for their contribution to a music world in need of more like them! (God it's good to live in this town) Most of us know how rough the last year or two have been in the industry so I just wanted to share some good news, and some damned fine work as well! To me there is no better feeling than seeing a friend come out swinging after a rough patch of road....this CD is a testament to such...trust me! ![]() A Peek YouTube - Jon Dee Graham: It's Not As Bad As It Looks
