the new piano - isn't she lovely!

I don't want to brag, or be pretentious, but - excitement like this comes rarely, so : finally after a few years waiting - the baby grand is here!

A nice, responsive 5'9" Kimball: plays wonderfully, very focussed sounding throughout, with a gigantic bottom register, new (german) action, and in time some new Steinway hammers will adorn this beautiful addition to the new place - welcome to your new home, baby! And the other 'baby" is due to arrive on Valentines Day: the other baby will be quite a bit smaller and easier to move - for the first while...

Thanks for the well-wishing, Jo - I'm falling in love all over again (with the piano, that is... )

I'm also excited with the upcoming kid: means a sibling (finally) for my 7 yr. old son

cheers!

on looks alone...

that piano is rich. I bet it sounds rich too.

Now for the other baby, I'm sure it will be in a higher, more piercing register!

congratulations

Nice Jay! Is it brand new or secondhand? What did it cost (if you don't mind me asking)?

Tim.

Hey Tim! Def. second-hand - we could never justify buying one brand new, and this model rebuilt, moved and delivered was a bit under 6 k (Cdn) - about the same price for a similar Yamaha U3 (upright) so we went for the big kahuna! Pretty happy we did - it still needs to get a touch-up tuning (but has held the move very well - just a couple of rogue notes) and we'll do that once the humidity settles, and we get into heating season, as that'll be the most drastic change for this instrument.

All the best,
