| profool, the label is owned by the studio. they have pretty impressive distribution and the native market has been extremely lucrative for them. I have way more of a writing/producing background. I have done a fair amount of personal engineering but this is a giant step forward for me . I just have a ton of reading to do, as all the posters suggest. (thankfully, the engineer I am replacing is a pro-tools instructor, I'll be spending a couple days with him) thanks all, wish me luck rt |

It seems like your about to go thru what i did at the begining of the year... from producing my own music ITB at home to recording bands and mixing on an SSL. let me tell you your in for a VERY STEEP LEARNING CURVE. for me the hardest thing was getting my head around patch bays and routing signals on consoles... but at the end of the day, if you know what sounds good at home, you will know what sounds good in a big studio. my advice is to do as much assisting and 2nd engineer as you can and pay attention!! in my first few months i was only working 6-7 days a month, but was there 24-7 making coffee, buying food and watching the other engineers every move!!! | |
