Coming to the U.S.A. California on tour!

I've been working as a live soundengineer for a french band since November.
We've just had confirmation we're heading over to San Francisco and then up and down California next September/October.

The band is called Really Addictive Sound, please check them out, I would love to get your feedback on their stuff, and see some of you at the shows!!!

It might seem pretty ordinary, but coming to California is a big thing for us Europeans!

Can't wait to get on the road over there!!!

It's a wierd place and I guess compared to some other places it has a crazy amount of laws and regulations, but the weather is great, and it's immensely multi-cultural which is pretty cool. The weather should still be quite nice by that time of the year, so any outdoor type gigs should be pretty nice.

Yeah, we certainly are looking forward to the weather, especially as we're planning on shooting a video while we're there.

Don't have the exact route yet, any idea about regulations about filming authorisatons anyone..??

Hey there Val,

If you can find time while in the Bay Area to spend an afternoon in the Redwoods you won't regret it.

Magical.

+100,000,000

I grew up in the redwoods (further north than San Fran)... nothing like it in the world.

Isn't Rivendell right down at the end of that path? I've not seen Elrond's place since the end of the Third Age. I need to get by there more often.

I felt the same way when I found out I was to tour France a couple years ago!

I live in Philadelphia, on the East coast of the US, and even I think California is a weird place. Don't get me wrong, I like California... but the whole West Coast vibe is just strange to me.

San Fransisco is my favorite city in Cali... I always have a good time there. I was just in LA for the first time a couple weeks ago and hated it. Then again, I was working most of the time and only got to go out and have fun once.

Anyway, don't listen to me... you will have an amazing time, for sure.

It was actually a low budget tour in early 2008... France was one of five countries on the tour... we played Paris (venue not worth mentioning), Bordeaux (Heretic Club), Strasbourg (Le Molodoi), and Marseille (Le Black Hand Inn). Marseille was definitely my favorite place we went to.... although all the French shows were awesome. But my favorite show on the entire tour had to be Wermelskirchen, Germany (Bahndam).... it was the most ridiculous heavy metal party I've ever seen.

I got invited to join the band because the tour was already booked, and the guitarist quit 2 months before the tour was to start. Since I had done the bands last two full length recordings, they figured I would learn the songs faster than someone else. I'm still in the band currently... It's a metal/grind/punk band no one's ever heard of. Our average attendance on that tour was about 100 people per show, which is way better than we get in the U.S.

CA is a huge state with really diverse geography, weather, politics, and ethnicity, so I personally can't generalize about it.

Compared to Philly, NYC, Baltimore, and Washington DC; California may as well be on Mars.

Alright, we do have West Virginia and South Carolina. So we got that working against us in the "normalcy" department, but still....

be careful of the food dude!

at first waffles, cheeseburgers, chicken fried steaks and BBQ might seem like a good idea but it will come back to haunt you!

my advice, buy gear! stuff is cheap in the USA!

have a great time man!

Comming to America

Hey man,
I live in California now, I moved here from Germany. I am American though, And I am from the East Coast. But Claifornia has a lot of Crap in the air, Like bad attitudes.

Just be carefull with whom you speak with. At this time in America, A lot of stupid Americans are bashing the system of Europe. Too many bone- heads here still think America And no where else!!

Fools!!!!

YOu will have fun with all of that in mind.
