Just finished two projects - fans of Elis Regina

I just finished two projects with my wife. It was great to work with her for a change instead of other people's music. One is a tribute to the Brazilian singer, Elis Regina and the other is bossa nova standards.

samples at .:. Nossa Bossa Nova .:.

Slutty info:
preamps: Great River, API, UA
EQ: Portico
Comps: OCL2, Action, LA610
Main tracking using stock HD24 converters clocked to a HEDD
Tracked and mixed on Sonar 8
Powercore and UAD1&2

I saw your post in the Moan Zone and came here to make these two comments:

1) You may have better feedback if you post your request in the "works in progress" section.

2) I loved the sound. Wouldn't change a thing. I listened to only three samples per record, though.

All in all, I liked the Elis tribute better. The arrangements in the Standards release sounded a little too close to the "originals," down to João Gilberto's ennunciation (here, I am referring to "Desafinado" where she sings "so os privilegiados tem ouviiiido iguallll aooo seuuu" with João's cadence. Good job nailing it, but that drawl belongs to João, sorry).

So, as you can see, it takes a self-proclaimed "expert" to find any flaws with your release. I think that's good news. Congratulations. I hope it sells like hotcakes.

Best,
++aldo

Thanks for listening and commenting. Yeah, the Elis one is my favorite. The standards one is more of commodity to have to sell at gigs. Whereas, the Elis record was a true labor of love for my wife and myself.

Yes, I see that, now that you mention it. Nice job and good luck again.
