Good news? GREAT News! I'm a DAD!

Last night at 7:07 p.m., my wife gave birth to our very first son, tentatively named Roran. It's my first child, and the beautiful red-headed (full head of hair!!) boy is now chilling with mom while I upload to shutterfly for all my far-off family. Praise God for his health and for giving us this gift to raise.

... I did miss playing a new-year's gig on bass with some monster players here in Georgia, but what a great way to miss it, huh?

Peace,
Matt

Congrats!

Your life is about to chance in many, exciting, challenging, rewarding ways!

Remember to enjoy every moment, as it goes super fast (take it from a father of a 2 yr. old)..

Congratulations. I've been a dad for 5 years now, and it keeps getting better everyday.

(And it get's easier everyday too! Don't worry, someday you WILL be allowed to sleep through the night again.... or just make your wife get up.... )

congrats Matt,

My wife and I welcomed out first this past Sunday at 11:37 p.m. - a girl named Viola! A new world awaits.

She's got my ears, so I'm thinking she'll be good behind the mix desk.

Congratulations!! I've got two kids myself (3 1/2 year old boy and an 8 month old girls) and they've changed the way I see the world and the way I view myself, too. I used to think of myself as a composer; now, I think of myself as a Dad who composes.

Enjoy every minute! And Matt, the sleep deprivation feels interminable, but when you look back, you realize it's really only a few months: a price well worth paying in retrospect.

Bam - here ya go:

Roran Kristopher Garwood... Kristopher is a Scandinavian spelling of "Christopher" which means "Christ - bearer". This boy has a big name to live up to, and we're already praying he'll make both God and parents proud. He's got a great start already :)

p.s. - check out all that red hair! And the kid was 3 weeks early, at 8 pounds, 2 ounces!

Congrats badhorsie,

My first was just born 3 months ago and it's been nothing but pure joy. Just wait till that little guy recognizes you and smiles big. Man, no feeling quite like that!

Congrats!
Take it from me, I've got 4.

Enjoy it as much as you can, they grow up way to fast.
It seems like yesterday they were just born and now they are 18, 16, 14 and 12.
Believe me... cherish the time, it will pass quickly.
