You guys ever have one of those moments where you go absolutely crazy and buy a whole bunch of sh*t that you can't afford? I just did that. I couldn't resist the gear slut inside me..... In the last 3 days had an attack and got: new monitors Neve Portico some Mogami cable u87 (not my first choice of an LDC, but damn I got a deal so good I couldn't say no) SM7b I'm extremely excited right now.. lol.... However, I think I'm going to cry when I read my credit card statement. 0% is a wonderful thing. |

Had one of those last year... New monitors Soundelux U99 Api lunch & a few 512c's Kept going with a used 512 & 550 here & there. (gotta fill it up... Looks better that way) Mogami to hook it all up. (what's another few hundred $?) Once I got it all to light up, I had to track the instuments at their best, so... New heads on 3 kits... 2 guit amps to the shop... 2 elec's to the shop to get set up...  on my wallet... But  on my face!Andrew |

Will do on that Portico. It seems everyone wants to know what it sounds like. I just said f--- it and bought the dang thing. They were also telling me when I called that a lot pf people have been slapping it across the 2 buss and pressing the silk button and everyone is loving it. I can't wait to try it. I may wet my pants just thinking about it.  I may just have to buy a folcrom now too....

Hey Joel I hear those U87s are the shizzle on rap vocals (loved your post on the other thread lol)Yeah man I'd love to hear a review of the Portico as well. I'm not gonna get the pre, but I have been considering the Duo Tape Channel for awhile... |

lol! Thanks man. I couldn't resist giving our homies a hard time. lol... looks like they got pretty pissed. I'm sorry though... any idiot can rap in my opinion. I didn't spend 8+ hours a day for years practicing guitar when I was younger because I wanted to make beats and talk over them. hahah Just remember... they have actually have PITCH in rap now. lmfbo... I've heard a few good things about that tape channel. Sounds cool! I'll have the portico next week so Ill give a detailed review. Peace man! |
