This is really good news! My friend (MAZE 72) just sent me all the info. He's getting his license plate changed to say PHISH 09. I can't wait, I just hope they can get back into their prime playing condition.

does this mean that Trey is out of rehab. I havent eaten "shrooms" in years maby I should buy a plane ticket back to the states. Honestly I love the band but somehow I need to be on drugs to really enjoy the experience of a live Phish show.

I just got through making a 3 CD set of Phish Live at Las Vegas for my friend Maze 72. What a great live band, absolutely brilliant.

Here's the song Sand from the show.

I saw them a bunch of times in the early 90's, lots of energy then. Last time I saw them was Plattsburgh, NY. The musical value was great, and let me put it this way, I didn't want to walk that mile through the airstrip/parking lot/campground to see the last set. Their energy was way lacking behind the show production. All I could think of when Trey was soloing with his "rock star" pose and hair blowing back was, "I am sooooo cool!" NOT!
I still do like their first couple albums though. This is just an opinion of someone who's been there, done that, grown up.

Unfortunately, this is kinda how I feel now too. They have moments of genius that have influenced me as much as just about any band, but they became fewer and farther between over the years. I pulled every string I had to get tickets for the first 4 shows back after the hiatus, including the 3 Hampton shows, and although it was enjoyable and special, by the end of it, I pretty much had my fill.

moe. is about the only jam-band that really interests me these days and if I'm gonna listen to improvisational rock music, nothing really tops early Allman Bros. to this day. Maybe if they come close and people are saying the band is really tight again, I might try to catch a show... I'll just have to get some passes or something. I can't be around those drugged-up kids anymore now that I'm sober, and unfortunately, despite Phish's musical merits, I think a large contingent of people planning to attend these shows is more interested in having the parking lot back than seeing the band

I feel the same I would love to see the band but without all their fans. I saw them just before they broke up on a visit back to the states and I thought that they played great my polish wife was with me and it was her first big rock show experiance and she loved it minus all the "dirty" fans. I was also amazed at all the new drugs that had entered the parking lot scene from the last time I had scene them. They all had tons of pushers and plenty of code names. I still dont have a clue what they were trying to sell but it definatly wasnt "shrooms kind bud and doses"

I will be in America in March so I might go and see a show just for the hell of it, maby I can round up an old phish head buddy to go with me. Its funny that in Europe no one can stand listening to the band when I put them on. Ive only met 2 people that liked their sound.

That's funny that some people just like their early stuff. My two most favorite albums are Billy Breathes and Farmhouse.

i'm also the early fan. IMO it's pretty hard to beat "you enjoy myself" and "reba" jams. Trey's solo just SOARS.

i went to their last shows in Coventry. great shows, but quite a miserable experience. the long miles of walking and dirtiness. i remember coming home, took the best shower ever, and passed out for about an entire day. oh well, at least i managed to get in the show, as well as get the reimbursement Photo Book.

i'm kind of torn whether i should go in March or not... my phish buddy is dying to go, so i just may...

speaking of Trey, whatever happened to his studio, It seems that he still has a farm but without the studio. Is the buisness so bad that even a rock star like Trey had to get out. That studio produced lots of grammy nominated albums. I tried to do a search but I couldnt find any info.

It's not a commercial facility as far as I know.

I think it's safe to say they got better with age. That was in 1990 so over 18 years ago. I've seen them live several times and they sounded much better than that every time I've seen them. Especially at Shoreline Amphitheater, they tend to play well there.

i agree w/ bcgood. altho Trey always has a tendency of ****ing up his playing quite often, under the influence or not.

either way, still sounds great live, under the influence or not

thats what I love about them they dont play it safe and they love to take huge risks. hardly any band has the guts to do that anymore.
