I just started...sounds pretty "2005" (in a bad way) so far.

But if you're a fan, check it out.

Made for a very pleasent breakfast time!

Thanks!

They have become the "Andrew Gold's" of the slacker / Generation X'ers

Good job at longevity.... I think this show will wheeze forever

I did see them recording a bit when I visited Geoff Tanner a while ago.his shop is basically in the studio that his partner owns as well..Very handy to have your own ex Neve guy in house to mind the 80 series

Weezer has fallen in a terrible downward songwriting spiral since after their second album. The production since then has been crap too.

Pinkerton is quite possibly the best-sounding rock album ever produced. Its raw ugliness is almost perfect. Some of the best songs, too.
It's just one of those weird things about recording... sometimes, if you do things entirely the wrong way, you get fantastic results.

While I feel the overall songwriting since Pinkerton is not as good I'm not sure I'de call it crap.

BUT, I will agree with you on the Production of Pinkerton! One of the most narly, noisy, raw recordings ever made, but somehow works perfectly for them. Gotta love it!

This one is not mixed by TLA or produced by Ric Ocasek. Rick Rubin, Alan Moulder, Rich Costey, Josh Abraham, Neal Avron & Jim Scott were the production staff. New perspective from an almost classic act.

What? You mean people out there actually like and respect this album?
It's a joke.

Look at these lyrics:

When your out with your friends
In your new Mercedes Benz and you're
On drugs
And you show up late for school cause
You think your really cool when you're
On drugs
And you put on your headphones
And you step into the zone when you're
On drugs
But the world don't care
If you're not there cause you're
On drugs

....

Give it to me
We are all on drugs yeah
Never getting enough (Never get enough)
We are all on drugs yeah
Give me some of that stuff (Wooooh)

I WANT TO CONSFICATE YOUR DRUGS
I don't think I can get enough (Uh)

Give it to me
We are all on drugs yeah
Never getting enough
We are all on drugs yeah
Give me some of that stuff (Wooooh)

We are all on drugs (We are all on drugs)
[x4]
(Wooooh)

AFA the Weezer lyrics, I've always thought Rivers is one of those songwriters who always writes chords and melody simultaneously and thus used whatever words come into his head. A lot of people do this, but I think in Weezer's case, the 'whatever words come into his head' tend to make it to the record.

Not my super fave band in the world, but I do have all their rekkids!

Vote analog! Buy Vinyl!!!

Wait...

I've found some better lyrics:

Well, they'll stone you when you're walking on the street
They'll stone you when you're trying to keep your seat
They'll stone you when you're walking on the floor
They'll stone you when you're walking through the door
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

(All in fun, as Dylan is in my top 5.)
