Payin' it forward

So a really dear friend of mine, who does live audio engineering down in Wellington NZ for a living just got his car broken into and was cleaned out of everything! They took all his tools, his rack of effects and his microphones.
I'm sure he's got insurance and all that, being a responsible sort, but it's still a big drag for him. I bought a few pieces for him here in the states so I'm getting receipts from the retailer and I have yet to mail him a copy of a movie I worked on anyway, so I decided to throw a few goodies in the box too.

I dug out a near mint SM57 and a slightly used FMR RNC to send him as well. I'm sure it will be a welcome surprise after all the crap he's gone thru...

Things have been good to me gear-wise, I work for and earn everything I have, and sure I could sell those pieces to flip for a new thing or two (or ten), but really I have been blessed to have my health and my family and my ability to make and record music and my good friend just got that ability (and his livelihood) snatched away.

So if you have a few pieces hanging around you don't use and you have been too lazy to sell them maybe now is the time to reflect on your life and what you have and maybe there's someone out there who could use a little hand up. Or maybe you need the hand up and should let us know!

It was a good reminder to me, so I figured I would pass it along to you!

Just a thought. Peace. -Jeremy

Nice one, Jeremy! You've inspired me.

OK, I have a mint SM57, an Audio-Technica 3528, and a Shubb capo here that haven't seen any action in quite a while.

I'll send them, free of charge, to the first person who sends me a PM about it.

GO!

OK, we have a winner!

Thanks everyone for the cool messages...

If I had 16 spare 57s I'd send one to each of you!

Cheers.

This might seem slightly lame but it's all I've got at the moment...

I've got a full license for IK Multimedia Amplitube 1 that I'm happy to give away to the first person who PMs me.

No good for you intel mac/vista users (unless you want on to the cheap upgrade train with no useable software in the meantime), but it should work for everyone else!

This is all pending that IK Multimedia approves the transfer (I've already paid for it, just need to hope it works once I go ahead and do it.)

Lightbulb

Listen everyone,

Giving some stuff away to someone who can genuinely use it just made my day. Truly.

If you're even thinking about jumping in on this, don't hesitate!

I promise you won't regret it...

It's very inspiring, I think this is great. Excellent idea to start this up over in a more high traffic forum RawBeanZen! Word.

Yeah, there just wasn't enough traffic in here to get this party started properly!

I'm so pleased that it took off...

Hi Madmat!

Thank you so much for getting your stuff stolen.

It has lead, through your friend Jeremy's kindness, to something extraordinary.

Cheers!
