Thumbs up Neve Portico faceplate conversion!

For all of you Portico owners who've been waiting and/ or wondering whether buying the conversion kit is worth it - Holy Crap, just do it!

Just installed the new faceplate package on my 5043.
EASY to install and My God, it's SO MUCH EASIER TO READ!!!

It costs 107.57 when you include shipping etc. It is SO worth it!
The low contrast screening of the original series is something I learned to accept, but realistically, it was hard to have confidence - especially if you have other people around who may or may not "readjust" your unit.

The metal knobs feel so much better. The top cover of the unit is included in the kit and it's a nice black and truthfully the front looks a lot better in person than the photos on the website would lead you to believe.

If you have thought about it, trust me, just do it!

Thanks for the kudos! It was a long time coming, and we're very happy with how they turned out.

very cool, but i'll keep mine stock. 20 years down the road someone will swear the black and red face porticos are the really great ones that you need to own and those other ones are complete crap

but at least we all know they're the same damn thing...

... or are they

Actually, you have done it correctly... the image on Neve's site & promo materials is wrong - it should be Blue for Threshold and Red for Gain.

BTW... I don't think 20 years from now any of the old plastic buttons will be around, so I don't imagine anyone's going to think they sound better....ha!

Lucky me, then I will leave the knobs as they are now

Hi Mathias,
I've ordered the conversion-kit directly at: Rupert Neve Designs
I did try to order via the german distributor first but they behaved a little bit
ignorant so I preferred to order directly.

If you should need further assistance please don't hesitate to send me a PM.

The new faceplates look a HELL of a lot better than the old ones IMO.

The new knobs are machined aluminum.
