Jules to expand!

No, not another bowl of pasta!!!!

I have been after the office above me for years..

The present tennant is LEAVING!!!

Hooray!!!

I can have it in a few month says the landlord..

Not QUITE the right time for me financially but I feel I HAVE to take it, to prevent a hostile new neighbour and secure my hold on it. Iwoul have the entire building then. It's not connected to any other property (such a rarety in central London)

Multi usage.

1) (bigger & cool) Live band tracking room (drums and Amp heads) Cabs can go downstairs in the exisiting tiny live room

2) Alternate 'one room' recording studio with seperate PT Mix + rig

3) Genuine band chill out / ping pong / place to eat

4) Makeshift office for CDR duplication / mailouts /

Lots of design thinking to do.. finance re-thinks.. I have the gear, its the accoustic treatments & wiring that I don't have...

Big enough for ping-pong must be worth something.

I may get into ASC tube traps once I seal off the outside world from the racket I make inside.. & vice versa...with sound proofing...

1) I want a kicking drum room (with DAW downstairs)
2) A vocal / percussion / acc gtr overdub "one room studio" with DAW rig in the same room
3) Chill out area (+ ping pong)
4) Office

The traps may facilitate all the above..

It's cool having an upstairs with extra rooms. I have three rooms upstairs but I rent two of them to bands and one is for storage. When business picks up enough for a consistant period of time, the bands have to go so I can get my rooms back for serious iso.

Go for it my man!

Sounds like a great opportunity; a one time possibility. grggt

If you haven't figured out exactly what you want to do by the time you get the space, just tighten up the sound proofing issues. Then live with the space for a while before you commit to the purpose of the space.

Perhaps you can keep it as an open space and use it as per each need arises.

Any chance that your landlord would let you take the property off his hands for good?

would like to see about a purchase sooner rather than later. the landlord is getting on in years and I like him a lot more than his son.
