Anyone need a Grammy vote?

Just got my ballot. I've been relatively apathetic about voting in the past couple of years, but this year, I think I'm going to do some listening and actually vote on some stuff.. And I'm soliciting lobbyists -- So...

Any of you slutz got a project out there that's nominated that needs a vote? I'm not talking about blindly shilling the vote, but I'd love to have a listen and give a slut a shot.

Dave:

"Another Kind Of Blue: The Latin Side Of Miles Davis" in the Latin Jazz Catagory can use a vote or two...

There are a couple of tracks posted in the MP3 forum under the same title as the record.

Is there anything you need a vote or two on? I'm a voting NARAS member and I'm willing to listen to any Gearslutz member's stuff.

Thanks in advance

Folks,

I'm making notes...

I plan to complete the ballot real soon.

Imagine if we all won...

Three GS wins would be very nice.

Consider my votes confirmed!

You folks ain't gonna believe this but...

A funny thing happened when I went through the complete Grammy Ballot today. I noticed I was up for another Grammy nomination in category 57 -- Best Gospel Choir/Chorus Album with -- Rev. Timothy Wright & the New York Fellowship Mass Choir II.

Is there a "None of the Above" selection in the categories?

Seriously, I think if there are no good albums/artists in a particular category in a given year, the award should not be given out.

FYI:

There are no "None of the Above" selections in the final ballot.

The Grammy final ballot is broken down into two parts.

Every voting NARAS member can vote in all four categories in part one. It includes the following:

Record of the year.
Album of the year.
Song of the year
Best new artist.

In part two the remaining categories are grouped under thirty-one different fields. Voting members can only vote for eight out of the thirty-one fields. You can vote in all categories within a field.

Since the winners are based on total votes counted there's no way you can not have a winner. What are the chances that no one will vote? Impossible I say...

Hey, many records suck or sound like shit and still win an award. It seems like it's a popularity contest -- I get the feeling it has nothing to do with whether or not it's a good album, artist and such. Even if you don't vote, someone will win and an award will be issued, like it or not, I'm afraid.

IMO, if you win a Grammy and the recording or performance sounds great -- it's a win win situation. I say, "More power to you."

Oh, one more thing -- Good luck and may your "crappy" record win! Present GS parties are excluded of course.
