FYI:
There are no "None of the Above" selections in the final ballot.
The Grammy final ballot is broken down into two parts.
Every voting NARAS member can vote in all four categories in part one. It includes the following:
Record of the year.
Album of the year.
Song of the year
Best new artist.
In part two the remaining categories are grouped under thirty-one different fields. Voting members can only vote for eight out of the thirty-one fields. You can vote in all categories within a field.
Since the winners are based on total votes counted there's no way you can not have a winner. What are the chances that no one will vote? Impossible I say...
Hey, many records suck or sound like shit and still win an award. It seems like it's a popularity contest -- I get the feeling it has nothing to do with whether or not it's a good album, artist and such. Even if you don't vote, someone will win and an award will be issued, like it or not, I'm afraid.
IMO, if you win a Grammy and the recording or performance sounds great -- it's a win win situation. I say, "More power to you."
Oh, one more thing -- Good luck and may your "crappy" record win! Present GS parties are excluded of course.
