Smile It's Here!! My Precioussssssssss!

It's here at last! My brand new Sputnik microphone!! This is a huge step forward microphone-wise for me... Although I didn't have much time to set it up and really try it, I can tell it really sings through my modded Presonus preamp.

So I was thinking - does having good gear trigger creativity, or is creativity living for itself, whatever the gear? Well, for the first time I realize that good gear does make a difference! As soon as I listened to the sound of this mic I was submerged with new songs coming to my mind.

I'm wondering... What will it be when I buy a c12?!?

I'm Happy!

Congrats on the Sputnik- I got one not too long ago on a good friends recommendation and it holds its own against some of my mics that are many, many times more expensive and considered drool worthy industry standards...

'morning.

I never had the chance to actually hear a u47 or a c12 (except on well-known recordings) nor do I know what any other $3k mic sounds like. I can tell however the Sputnik is sensitive enough to bring to the front each and every single background noise from my improvised recording room

I know where I have to go next now

Well, I guess you can find pics of the Sputnik everywhere over the web... But if it is for your most intense pleasure then I'll post some later.

I'm telling you, having a good mic in a baaaaad recording setup brings a lot of frustration. Apart from the background noise I mentioned earlier, I'm getting some annoying phasing effects most likely due to the very small size of the room - and the parallel walls, ceiling and floor without any kind of sound treatment.

I love the mic anyway.
