One of my favourite bass player, check him on Chick Corea Electric band, the first album he did with Chick, a track called as I remember "Cool Weasel Boogie". Boy does he groove.

I like him better on upright. Check out his solo with Acoustic Band on "Someday MPWC". Heavenly.

I definitely prefer him on upright as well and was going to say that on my previous post, but then I remembered his electric playing and decided to say simply that he's a monster. All around bass monster.

Yeah, a monster....
Just the other day I wacthed some bootleg videos of him live with Chic's Eletric Band (playing electric of course).... a monster, no doubt!

I agree, John is great!
Renee Rosnes also rocks! She's a very talented piano player...

Any of you guys saw him w/ Chick, Gambale, Weckl, and Marienthal. (CC's Elektric Band) @ the Blue Note last month?
I can't believe I was busy every freaking nights that week and I've missed every single show!
