BIG CONGRATS!

I am the proud Dad of a two week old baby girl, our first, so I know how you feel.

God speed to mum and bub!

Congratulations! I know what it's like, having less free time, but if you have some spare room at home (if that's where your studio is located), set up a bed for the baby, with all the bells and whistles from Fisher-Price, set up a water-cooker (if the baby is not breast-fed) and a microwave-oven, and you'll still be able to work about 10 hours a day, because a new-born sleeps about 17 hours a day!

It will only get worse, once your baby is about 3-5 moths old, than it
will scream and shout through your precious mixing-time!

It's our 4th now since march 2008, and still going strong!
Just stay away from that 'Oprah-ish how-to-raise-your-kid-bullshit' and you'll do fine...

My advise is to not listen to the nay-sayers !

You already know what adjustments you will need to make in life because you already went through them with your first.

I think that you create your own level of happiness in life and having kids is the best

Congrats!

Happy tidings, Dad! Got 3 myself, and the second time was a two-fer .

Don't worry about the gear - as long as you aren't already 'on the border', over leveraged, or an incurable gambler ... you'll do fine. I've never bought more gear than I have since we brought the first one home (almost 9 years ago now). Where there is a will there is a way.

Thanks to all the sound advice!

I am really excited about this and I must say that children are a great joy.

Now I have to learn to mix on headphones.

Congrats! I have three and there is nothing better. Your priorities are about to drastically change, you will have no idea what you were thinking before.

As a side note, they all just left for camp yesterday. The first time in about 13 years that my wife and I have been completely alone in the house for any length of time. The silence is deafening.

I am also expecting #3 in October, congrats on this and get ready to go through the stuff you forgot about in the first month (as with your first child lol). I am preparing myself now as #2 was a retro every 2 hours feeding time shocker!
