I may see them soon in New England, never seen them live. Would go with my brother who saw them on the Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son tours. I hope Eddie is in full effect...isn't that the biggest reason to go??

War
I saw them on Ozzfest a couple years back and it was great, but they weren't the headliner so the Maiden show wasn't in full effect.

Tonight I will have an overload on Eddie. I am ok with this.

Time to go buy about 10 sets of ear plugs.

My Recordings/Credits

so how was it?

I saw them in Montreal a few years ago. IM doing 'The Clairvoyant' while Bruce was being chased around the stage by a 15' Eddie in medieval garb has to be one of my favourite concert memories of all time...

They do not disapoint!

I saw this tour last month and it was great. They played a solid 2 hour set complete with "Rime of the Ancient Mariner." Only two songs I was anticipating to hear but didn't were "Wrathchild" and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son." Steve Harris seriously pounds those strings. During our one and only beer/restroom break ("Fear of the Dark") we must have passed near some phanton subs because we could feel the midbass thumping our chests. The backline was completely hidden by stage backdrops/props. My seats were great. I sat center/center, middle seats of the center section halfway between the stage and the soundboard. Eddie was indeed in full effect. I took a Maiden virgin and her comments were along the lines of "Their show exceded my expectations." She also commented on their physical endurance. They played one song after another only giving enough time between them to swap props. Our ears rang for a week.

Here is the setlist if I remember correctly:

01. Intro - Churchill's Speech
02. Aces High
03. 2 Minutes to Midnight
04. Revelations
05. The Trooper
06. Wasted Years
07. The Number of the Beast
08. Run to the Hills
09. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
10. Powerslave
11. Heaven Can Wait
12. Can I Play With Madness?
13. Fear of the Dark
14. Iron Maiden
-----------------------------
15. Moonchild
16. The Clairvoyant
17. Hallowed Be Thy Name

Damn Its hard to believe the 80z were that long ago.

I had every Maiden black light poster I could find and must have seen them at least 3 times. Ohh the Trooper back patch on my Levi Jacket and hours waisted in class drawing Eddie on my folders.
Ok I officially feel old!

Good Day

Yeah, those are some fun shows. OK I gotta brag -
In the 80s I ws in charge of quality at QSC Audio and Iron Maiden was one of our big customers. They were one of the few acts that actually owned their own sound & lighting gear (I don't think they still do). So I got to go to just about every Maiden show in SoCal for a few years - Long Beach Arena, Inglewood Forum, San Diego, etc. It was a blast watching the shows from the FOH platform & I got to check out a lot of their stage gear & tech stuff while I was working on the QSC gear before the shows. Ah, good times.

I had tickets for the June 3rd show in Vancouver but started a new job and ended up in Houston for 3 weeks. My buddy who I was going to go with emailed me today telling me it was the best concert he has seen since Queen back in their heyday. Makes me very, very sad.

I hope they come back very soon!

I loves me some Maiden. Saw them on Piece of mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in time, and fear of the dark. Steve Harris and Nikko Mc Brain are the shit!
