Boy, that was sure ugly for Philly..

My girl (huge Flyers fan) made me turn it off after 3-0. I turned it back on to see 6-0 & time run out..

Hey, Philly has nothing to be ashamed of...

I give them props.. They have a great nucleus of young talent. I think they just got worn out over the first 2 series. Game 4 was about as close as we got to seeing the real Flyers and they were good.

Wings V Pens, should be a killer series!

Hard to tell who will win out, I think the pens have more offensive talent than anyone Detroit has faced so far, though I think Detroit matches them well on that front. I'd give Detroit a slight edge defensively, so it may come down to goaltending. You have to like Osgood and Haseck, loads of experience there, I think if Fleury gets rattled he may collapse.

Any predictions for game one, and for the series?

I'm thinking game one goes for Detroit, 4-2, series to Detroit, also 4-2.

Of course, game one could realistically be a blowout one way or the other, or could be a shooting gallery, like 7-5.

I think its going to be a very very good series.

Not so much grind hockey, more finesse hockey.

I think Pittsburgh has WAY more offensive players, than Detroit, I only see the wings 1st line being much of a problem. The deal with the Pens is every line we throw out, we have gunners on, and our first line is a bit of an overwhelming line.

I honestly don't think any of the pens are going to get rattled, they are proving to be very mature young adults
they SHOULD of came out fighting sunday, but they didn't, they beat their asses with skill..

that says alot. you see laraque? he wanted to throw, but he wasn't going to take a cheap penalty without the other guy going to the box as well. (he didn't throw his gloves just shook em)

as far as goal tending goes, flowers is looking real good.

you guys know they are calling sid 'zorro' because of that beard he is growing, or trying to grow hahaha

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing, but with Detroit having more guns! The wings spread their scoring out over 4 lines, although Franzen being hurt has screwed up the works a bit. I also think that Detroit's 1st line plays strong defense, moreso than the Pens 1st. Zetterburg would be a great addition to any team, even if he didn't score!

Franzen's still out, but I think the wings will still be ok.

I had a dream last night, that the Wings won 8-2, like that last Avs game!

I doubt it'll be a route, but I think they look good!

I think the Pens are going to be doing some thinking for the next game.

Wings looked good, couple bad breaks, but still came out on top.

Pens will play better next game, I think, they seemed a little slow for most of the game. There were two times where they had good possession and setup well 5 on 5, and the first couple power plays looked good, though by the end they weren't even getting past the blue line.

What say you? Was is a fluke?

People tend to forget that the Wings aren't a run and gun style of team. They play very good defense, and emphasize puck control. The way you beat them is to be aggressive, and to take away their passing lanes. The stars did it a couple of times in the last series, and Detroit had to adjust.

Oh, and have a fantastic goalie. Look back over the past 15 years, and more often than not, they ran into a hot goalie, like a Patrick Roy, or a Giguere. They could put 50 shots on net, and score 1. In that case, you can win with 2 or 3. If your goalie isn't playing well, you'll need 5 or more to win.

i'm not totally out yet. we still have to play at home, the pens are a different hockey team in front of their home crowd.

i will say tho- they need to do something. they are averaging like 6 shots a period.. thats pathetic. they got pretty physical with detroit on monday, we need to step up the intensity on wednesday and put some more shots on osgood.

you can see how green everyone is...and how totally different roberts looks out there compared to crosby or malkin..

and hossa!? what happened to him? he looks as if he isn't even trying.

Pens need to put 1 in the net, Break the seal, maybe even score 1st, just to get something going..

Tomorrow's game will be a lot different, I'm betting. Pens have been fantastic at home, and Detroit plays a much more disciplined game on the road. Should make for a very exciting game!

This reminds me a bit of Gretsky's first foray into the Finals, when the oilers got swept by NY. I was 12 at the time, and I remember those games. Of course, the next year the Oilers got it done, then did it several more times over then next decade.

I think we're just seeing a glimmer of what the Pens can become, they're going to be a great team if they can keep it together in this era.

Detroit surprises me, I thought when Bowman stepped down, they'd not be back in it for a long time, but they've been very consistent. I think they're a little heavy on the Veterans and not enough young guys, but they've had a similar balance for years, so I guess it works for them.

I predict tomorrow's game will be close, 3-2, not going to pick a winner (though I think Detroit will pull it out)
