Philly can take them..
The Pens are favored, but so were the Caps.. and the Habs.

They took down the #1 offense (and offensive player) in the Washington Capitals, and then took it to the very talented, balanced, deep and #1 seeded Canadiens.

The Penguins are far from a lock in this one.. I expect a good series.

GO FLYERS!

I agree.. no point in speculation here..
I'm just saying the flyers are better than the #6 seed.. and can beat the pens..
just a matter of whether they do or don't..

I also agree with the guy above..

Flyers in 6

I respect Philly...

BUT...

They blew a 3-1 series lead against Washington and had to settle it in OT of game 7..

The Canadiens blew it big time. They got off their game.. They feasted on oppnents on the power play during the regular season. Not so much in the Playoff with Philly.

1)The power play stunk..
2) Philly rattled Montreal into taking bad penalties. Philly power play was more effective.
3) 5 on 5, Montreal had 3 times more shots on net but could convert..

I'm still trying to figure out how Philly managed to beat Montreal. Wow. Montreal was skating circles around them for 5 games but couldn't put the put pack in the net.

Well, Price wasn't helping their cause either.

Anyways, GO PENS!
Love the kids. Love the organization. The team. The city.

Pens in 6.

Actually, those were the facts... Not useless stats..

Oh yeah... And the Pens started the season out playing below their Talent and the Flyers played above during that time period.. Not to mention that there was something physically wrong with Fleury (why he went on the DL)..

Here's one more useless fact..

The flyers lost how many in a row? Exactly..

regular season stats are indeed useless in the playoffs. San Jose had the best PP in the reg season and worst in the playoffs.

this series should be a battle! i'm pullin for the pens but really like the Philly lineup too - biron has been unreal. damn it all to hell though. i miss game 1 because of session tonight!

edit: game 1 in this series is tomorrow.cool. i thought it was tonight, so game on!

Wings v Dallas should be good, I think the Pens can win, but I also think Philly has the best shot so far. The Rangers were owning the pens off and on, but couldn't put points on the board, and of course, when they'd let up a bit physically, the Pens would skate all over them.

As far as Detroit, I think they've got a great shot at the cup, two great scoring lines, and some nice hitting in the last series. If Osgood stays on his game and they don't get any serious injuries, I don't think anyone can stop them. On the other hand, they have a few older guys that could go down, and losing Chelios or Lindstrom would be big.

I'm thinking Wings sweep Stars, take Pens in 6.

Don't know if you know this, but your GM Ray Shero is the son of legendary Flyers coach of the 70's Fred Shero. Just a little meaningless trivia.

Dude, the wait is killin me too...

Wow, only game 1..

But Philly looked slow and confused..

More like the Phantoms than the Flyers...

Biron was human..

Pittsburgh put on a skating, hitting, scoring and passing clinic.

Schools out..

This is what happens when a team can actually convert against the flyers...They win.

This certainly doesn't help matters.. Next to loosing Biron, Timo is the last guy I want to see sitting..

Pens beat them straight up in game 1. thumbsup
Watching some of the missed shots, & stupid turnovers that led to Pens goals, I'm holding out a sliver of hope.

I'm a homer, what can I say..?? GO FLYERS!!

ps.. Hey xmostynx.. Fukk yer boids!!
