The innernette has a new website.

A web-developer pal put together a new 'blog-esque' website for me, and I wanted to share it with everyone here.

It's still in development and will be getting additional content, but if you have a moment please swing by, click around and leave a comment in the blog. I'm interested in feedback as well as it's new territory for me, and many of you slutz seem pretty web-savvy.

Here's the site:

MixMyMusic.net

Thanks!

*BUMP

Was hoping for some opinions, thoughts. What should be changed, what's people like. Need to give my web pal some feedback.

Thanks to anyone who has a second.

Best,
C

nice design. i like the colours, that squiggle on the side, and the photo of a mixer.

I think the front page might be too busy though; In fact, I'm not sure you need that front page at all. Maybe the site should launch directly onto the blog section, with the home page area moved to a seperate "about me/the site" section? But that's just a matter of taste: However, I do think the home page could be rearranged slightly so it all fits on one screen, i shouldn't have to scroll down just to see the bottom half of those pictures. Just saw that there is already an "about me" section: That's got one of the same pictures as the home page. Maybe merge these two sections? (and then I'll feel fine about scrolling).

On the whole, really nice. Why does George Massenburgs room give you a headache?

Thanks, I really appreciate the response. I'm not designing it per se, but a friend of mine is doing the majority of the work, and I need to give hims some feedback. What better place to get that? (Don't answer that question...)

George's room gives me a headache because

a) It reminds me of a large Iron Maiden

b) It reminds me of the trash compactor scene in Star Wars

Also, I just wrote my first article for the website on the concept of "Complimentary EQ". Do me a favor and swing by, read it, and Digg it if you like it:

Complimentary EQ

Thanks!

It looks good. The only thing I would do is make most of the type colors a wee bit brighter so it's easier to read - in particular the body copy.

What colour are they showing up on your monitor? They're a bright bluey tone on mine, almost white as it is

Personally I would flip it from left to right and have the navigation bar etc ont he right hand side.
All the search engine spiders search websites from left to right for new content and you will get higher rankings from google and it will be indexed quicker if you make new posts with the nav bar on the opposite side.
Looks great so far though, nice design
