| Just scored a mint Rhodes&Traynor amp for free!! The craiglist listing said Rhodes #73 and StudioMate amp for free to good home.I called up and they said everything worked.Well when I showed up tried to hide my enthusiasm as this was the cleanest Rhodes I've ever seen. They were surprised they had gotten 10 calls in the hour it had been up;they didn't think it was worth much.I said yeah, some people like the old stuff and I volunteered to take it off their hands. Its got a few scuffs on the bottom, but the rest is so damn clean outside and in. Although the board powers up and all the lights vibrato seem to function it doesn't affect what comes out of the amp.In other words turning the volume/EQ sliders and vibrato has no affect so there must be a bad connection somewhere. After looking on the internet it seems some people like this Traynor YGM-4 Studio Mate amp also. Not your standard Rhodes amp,but it will be good to add to the studio collection. Anyway, early merry XMas to me! Pete |
