Just ditched my Mackie's for Focal Twin 6's

I know there are a number of threads at the moment on Focal Twin 6's but I thought I would share my experiences with you none the less . I had been using the Mackie 824's for around 5-6 years, and on the whole thought they were OK. Being a gearslut I was intrigued by all the positive comments on this board for Focal's. So I sent an email to Unity audio the Distributor here in the UK (Unity Audio) asking if they had a pair they could lend me for a week. I had an email back same day from Kevin Walker and arranged a set to be sent over. Well all I can say is everything you fellow Slutz said was true. The stereo imaging is fantastic...much better than the 824's. They did need playing in for 24 hours to bring the bass to life, but now the sound is so even its audio Heaven
Some people said the tweeter is harsh...I think compared to that fatiguing Genelec (1000 series) tweeter, this sounds to my ears smooth and natural. I did roll it off 2db for personal taste. Where this monitor really scores in my book is the detailed Mid range (which others have said). It's very revealing. They also look good in the studio...not just another all black box.
I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a true monitor in the £1.5k range.

Thanks Folks & Kevin @ Unity Audio

The Focals are incredible. Just tested them against my Mackies and you know what...the 824's are gonna go up for sale very soon.

Not a bad word to say about the Twin 6's, had them only a few hours and its blatantly obvious whats wrong with my mixes..

The mid and hi range is like nothing else ive ever heard

Wow!
