Kelly Clarkson gets the picture, finally.

There was no bucking the system, and no going against Clive Davis. Clarkson has agreed, through her wise new manager Narvel Blackstock, to make a pop album for release in 2008 with songs selected by Davis and his team.

Clarkson's acquiescence comes at the end of a long melodrama concerning her current, turgid album "My December," which features a lot of ragged self-penned songs by Clarkson about a relationship gone sour.

Great! she get points for trying on her own to write songs and do her own thing on her new record so shes cool in my book!

i should have been a bit more clear. she went against clive davis will and did her own thing this album with no outside songwritting help....what i meant by pop is more radio peppy stuff like her 2nd album, this new one is a bit dark themed, and clive hated it.

You know, Kelly's one of the few pop artists that I think has actual talent, but I can't help but think that this whole thing was a publicity stunt. I was waiting for her to show up with "slave" written on her cheek.
